Product description

Pool Stix is a high quality, transparent, neutral and elastic one-component adhesive based on SMX polymers.

Property

·        Excellent adhesion on virtually any surface, even if slightly moist.

·        Transparent formulation

·        Insensitive to mold, contains biocide with fungicidal action

·        Good extrusion capacity even at low temperatures

·        Free from isocyanates, solvents, halogens and acids

·        Always elastic after solidification

Applications

·        Repair of mosaic tiles.

·        Repair of damage on concrete stairs.

·        Easy bonding and sealing of pool components (grid, spot, valves, drain, ...)

·        Temporary repair of small leaks

·        Repair and reinforcement of damaged metal and polyester surfaces.

·        ATTENTION: Only for temporary and non-permanent repairs, pressure lines or structural applications.

Storage

15 months in closed packaging in a cool and dry place at temperatures between + 5 ° C and + 25 ° C.

Chemical resistance

Good resistance to water (salt), aliphatic solvents, hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, alcohols, dilute mineral acids and alkalis.

Substrates

Substrates: All common building substrates. Glass, treated wood, PVC, plastic, metals, stone, cement, ...

Nature: load-bearing, clean, dust and grease.

Surface preparation: Porous surfaces should be treated with Primer 150.

Prepare non-porous surfaces with a SOUDAL activator or detergent (see data sheet).

NOTE: Bonding plastics such as PMMA (p.es. Plexiglas®), polycarbonate (p.es. Makrolon® or Lexan®) in high stress applications can cause cracking and stress cracks in these substrates. Pool Stix is not recommended in these applications. Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, materials containing copper or copper such as bronze and brass.

We recommend carrying out preliminary adhesion and compatibility tests on each surface.

Processing method

Method of application: With manual or pneumatic sealing gun.

Cleaning: Clean with SOUDAL Surface Cleaner or SOUDAL Swipex immediately after use

Cured pool Stix can only be removed mechanically.

Finishing: With a soapy solution or with SOUDAL Finishing Solution before filming.

Repair: With the same material

Notes

·        Not suitable for gluing aquariums.

·        Pool Stix can be painted with water-based paints: however, due to the large number of paints and enamels available, a compatibility test is strongly recommended before application.

·        Pool Stix can be applied to a wide range of substrates. Since

·        Specific substrates such as plastic, polycarbonate, etc. may differ from one manufacturer to another, a preliminary compatibility test is recommended.

·        Pool Stix is not suitable for expansion joints.

·        Pool Stix cannot be used as a glass sealant.

·        Pool Stix cannot be used on natural stone. Because the adhesion surface discolors due to the sealant (it looks wet) and because it is visible through the transparent sealant, it seems that stains are present.

·        Pool Stix has good UV resistance but can discolor in extreme conditions or after long exposure to UV rays.

·        A total absence of UV rays can cause an alteration of the color of the sealant.

·        Discoloration due to chemicals, high temperatures and UV rays can occur. A change in color does not affect the technical properties of the product.

·        Avoid contact with bitumen, tar or other plasticizer-releasing materials such as EPDM, neoprene, butyl, etc. because it can cause discoloration and loss of adhesion.
